About CreatorPreflight

Free tools and guides for YouTube creators, built to check the things that decide whether a video gets clicked — before it is published.

CreatorPreflight started with a simple frustration: creators design thumbnails full-screen in an editor, write titles in a text box, and guess at tags — then YouTube shows the result shrunk into a crowded feed, truncated on a phone, next to five competing videos. The checks that would catch the problems take seconds, but the tools for them were scattered, paywalled, or required uploading your work to someone else's server. This site puts the six most useful pre-publish checks in one place, free, with everything running locally in your browser.

The tools

Two companion tool sets live on subdomains of this site: the Creator Video Toolkit (Shorts clipper, auto splitter, clip merger, video compressor and GIF maker) and the Background Remover (unlimited image background removal).

How the site works

Every tool on CreatorPreflight runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript on your own device. Images and videos you open are read and processed locally; they are never uploaded to a server, because the site has no server-side processing at all. There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no tracking run by us. That design is deliberate: a pre-publish check should be instant, private and free, and it should work the same for a channel's first video as for its thousandth.

The guides

Alongside the tools, the site publishes free guides that explain the craft the tools check for: how to design a thumbnail that gets clicked, how to write titles that earn the click without clickbait, and how hashtags and tags actually work on YouTube. The guides are written from the same rubrics the tools use, so what you read and what the tools measure always agree.

Who runs it

CreatorPreflight is an independent, one-person project, maintained alongside a working YouTube channel — the tools are used on real uploads every week, which is how bugs get found and the rubrics get tested. The site is supported by advertising, which is kept clearly labelled and never interferes with the tools. It is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.
